My favorite thing to do in Altadena was long walks around the mountainous neighborhood. In quarantine I would dedicate an hour of my mornings to take my dog shadow on long walks while I listened to a podcast. When friends slept over we would take night walks to Farnsworth park or walk down Christmas Tree Lane during the holidays. When I come home from school for break I tend to walk with my family for hours as we catch up and talk of future travel plans. I never got sick of my little neighborhood walks.
They were the one thing I looked forward to.
I liked the west side walk of Wapello-where I got to see a beautiful spanish style house and a gray cat under a car.
I liked the east side meadow. Where I got to walk in the middle of a street trail filled with plants and trees.
I liked the Lake walk where I could window shop in all of my favorite little stores. And then grab a coffee after.
I liked the long Altadena Dr. walk where I would admire the huge houses filled with beauty. It would get me excited for my future home.
Each street was-filled with life, beauty, comfort, and other souls.
The comfort of being up in this secret mountain town of LA filled me with love and joy.
And one day-it will again.
